Temptation is a recurring theme in the Bible, from Eve in the Garden to Jesus in the wilderness. It represents the constant pull between our desires (the flesh) and God’s will (the Spirit). Jesus teaches us to resist temptation by relying on God’s Word, saying, “Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4). He reminds us to pray, “Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil” (Matthew 6:13). Leading with the Spirit means trusting the Holy Spirit’s guidance over fleeting pleasures, choosing eternal truth over temporary satisfaction.
